Miller and Lincoln TIG and MIG Welders | Welding with the new Lincoln Idealarc 250

Welding with the new Lincoln Idealarc 250

Filed Under Miller and Lincoln MIG and TIG Welders Videos |

So I got this new welder just yesterday, and am practicing running some beads with the AC and DC+ features, running at 140 AC amps drawing probably 25 amps at 220v, 140 amperes at AC and DC is the maximum amperage I can get 100% duty cycle at and is a little overboard for the 1/8 rod I am using, but the machine is really smooth and works well, I am the second owner, it was originally 1500 dollars or so from lincoln electric (i got the original bill of sale) I got it for 400 shipped, sweet welder so far, some projects comin up, stay tuned.

Hey Atomicsaladbowl, ignore welders who shoot other welders down and then brag about what they have or how much they know. They are shallow people. Stupid people think you have to have certs to be a real welder.

I took my first welding lesson last week. My first try and I welded awesome. I spent 6 months watching videos and studying so that’s why I did so great. Bill the company owner offered to hire me to weld security framing cages on the spot. I have no certifications, and offered a job. LOL

I never said it would do welds that quality but it is good for anything I am doing, and I never did say I was a professional, this video was just for fun.

O.K. dude, I’m not gonna flame you anymore. You show your own inexperience (looked at your other vids…..getting alot better, but, still not great). I am a Lincoln man. I have a shop full of their equip. What you have there is a very capable stick machine, better than most hobbyists. It is not a large machine though. You may have seen them in Nuc plants in the maint. dept. or something. You would not see one of those (nice) units doing x-ray quality TIG welds. Won’t do it! I’ve got an Invertec.

it will do 300ac amps max 250dc- and + and will weld with an 100 percent duty cycle at 150 ac or dc amps.

Fuck you I can weld, gettin pretty good too, go look at my other fuckin video. the beads in this video are pathetic they are raised and didnt even penetrate and look like shit, how many fuckin times will i say, the machine wasnt wired right, and you think thats a toy?? its a lincoln idealarc, im the second fuckin owner, its a pretty popular machine, I have seen them used in nuclear power plants pretty commonly, its not a little chinese shit welder.

  8. ironken on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

Wow, I was just saying not to believe what you hear….I wasn’t trying to be a jerk. Here’s the truth of the matter. You can’t weld for shit. Donate that little toy machine to Goodwill! Now that was me being a jerk.

look i dont know who the fuck you think you are, nor do i give a fuck what certs you carry, it doesnt make a fuckin difference to me, ya i am learning, only been welding for a fuckin year, how many fuckin times will i say i had a 220v single phase machine wired for 110, it wasnt working correctly, and I have no idea what the fuck I said that is “hogwash” I didnt mean for this to be a fuckin serious video its just a video of me welding with the new welder i had got.

  10. ironken on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

Who in the world told you that hogwash…..It’s cool that you are learning, but, don’t repeat something that some joker spouted or you read in a forum. I run a Speedglas 9002X. One of the best. BTW I’m not just talking outta my ass. AWS D1.1 unlimited 1,2,3,4 F&G certs.

  11. ironken on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

Shut these people up and tell them what certs you carry……

  12. ironken on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

Why did you not see right off that weldment wasn’t made with a L.H. electrode?

  13. atomicsaladbowl on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

thanks, dont know how many times I said it so far, the welder was not wired right, wasn’t penetrating the steel worth a shit, check out my other videos…

thats cool bro i just got a deal on a new lincoln hd 175 (mig). Its got lots of power plenty for me (i make security doors) without having to pay for the more expensive brands.
Good luck and try using a 7014 3/32 rod when in 110. Its the smoothest ive used.

  22. arbuckle1111 on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

my boots are smarter than you

  23. atomicsaladbowl on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

i dont know what you mean by ditch 6013 in a river, cause that is what i am using here and keep in mind what i said about how the machine was not wired correctly in this video and how if you watch my other vids you will see better welds with the machine operating like it should

  24. atomicsaladbowl on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

i suggest otherwise, stick welding creates tons of tiny burst of light your eyes get fucked over time using auto darkening with stick, doing any stick welding it should be with a regular mask especially when you get to real high amperages

  25. arbuckle1111 on August 31st, 2008 3:48 pm

what type of rod are you using i like 6011, ditch 6013 in a river
